Since 2012, Peter Kafatia worked as a Mechanical Engineer at NiSource in Northwest Indiana, USA, where he held various engineering roles (Reliability Engineering Intern, Station Engineer Level 1 & 2, and Station Environmental Engineer Level 2). Mr Kafatia then joined a boutique engineering consulting firm in Malawi, for which he served as Operations Manager and Project Manager.
Mr Kafatia is primarily a specialist in the heavy industry and energy sector. He has extensive experience in the management of operation and maintenance as well as investment projects, especially for coal-fired power plants and in heavy industry. In addition, Mr Kafatia has been involved in a variety of quality assurance and quality control projects and has participated—both as a client and as a consultant—in various bidding processes. Mr Kafatia holds a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma from Indiana University Northwest. He is also familiar with occupational health and safety.
Peter Kafatia studied mechanical engineering at Purdue University, Indiana and graduated there with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME). He is currently studying for a Master in Business Administration (MBA) at the Munich campus of Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences.

For this year’s ranking, 2,334 colleagues determined the best management consultancies according to their perception by industry and functional practice area. Subsequently, assessments were obtained from the clients. For this purpose, 1,100 senior executives were provided with a list of the recommended consultancies for each industry and work area clients via online survey; another 234 senior executives (Head of Strategy, Head of Business Development, etc.) from DAX, M-DAX, S-DAX and Tec-DAX companies were specifically invited to participate in the survey.
